ICD-10 2020: Migraine Updates

R11.15 (Cyclical vomiting syndrome unrelated to migraine) will be the new code for migraine patients. It is another option for R11.1 (Vomiting). Currently, there are five codes- R11.10, R11.11, R11.12, R11.13 and R11.14.

There are certain vomiting related revisions apart from this new code. It includes:

•  G43.A1 (Cyclical vomiting, in migraine, intractable). It is currently referred as (Cyclical vomiting, intractable).
•  G43.A0 (Cyclical vomiting, in migraine, not intractable). Cyclical vomiting, not intractable is the recent descriptor.
•  M50.120 (Mid-cervical disc disorder, unspecified level). “Level” is added in ICD-10 2020.
•  M67.839 (Other specified disorders of synovium and tendon, unspecified wrist). “Wrist” replaces the existing “forearm” in code descriptor.
•  M66.88 (Spontaneous rupture of other tendons, other sites). “Sites” will be added at the end of code in ICD-10 2020.

It will be effective from 01 October 2019.
