Welch Allyn RetinaVue 700 Imager Launched by Hillrom

Hillrom launches the Welch Allyn RetinaVue 700 Imager, a retinal camera to detect diabetic retinopathy. It is a recent innovative diagnostic technology.

It helps distant ophthalmologists to identify diabetic retinopathy in diabetic patients.

RetinaVue700 Imager will be offering faster, simpler and cost efficient means to have more patient compliance through early detection of vision threatening disorder.

It is the first handheld camera which can capture retinal images with high quality.  Remote ophthalmologists can effectively review about 75% retinal area through the image quality assessment algorithm and 60-degree field of view in comparison to standard 45 degree field of view.

Patient data is secured with the system through data encryption. Also, they have secure client-server authentication. The RetinaVue network is independently verified for compliance, privacy and security controls.
