Coding for Foot Deformities Diagnosis

ICD-10 updates bring other revisions for enthesopathy affecting ankle and foot. Reporting for congenital anomalies of foot are included in the recent update.

In the current ICD-10 2019, each code can be read for foot such as other enthesopathy of foot (M77.5). However, in recent update of ICD-10 2020, “and ankle” is added to each code.

Following are the recent updated codes of ICD-10 2020:

•  M77.5 — Other enthesopathy of foot and ankle
•  M77.50 — Other enthesopathy of unspecified foot and ankle
•  M77.51  — Other enthesopathy of right foot and ankle
•  M77.52  — Other enthesopathy of left foot and ankle.
