The Chemical Industry consists of the companies that produce industrial chemicals. This industry utilizes chemical processes such as chemical reactions and refining methods to convert raw materials—such as oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, and minerals—into more than 70,000 different products. These products include chemical, petrochemicals, agrochemicals, ceramics, polymers and rubber, oleo-chemicals (oils, fats, and waxes), explosives, fragrances, and flavors etc. Chemical Technology deals with the application of basic science and technologies to build that device, system, or product. Engineers have less knowledge of chemistry but good knowledge of technical side and chemist have good knowledge of chemistry but less knowledge of technical side, Chemical Technology bring it on one platform. This is the combination of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Chemical Industry.
It is intended for rapid communication of knowledge and experience to engineers and scientists working in the area of research development or practical application of Chemical Technology. This programme includes study material which is related to – Chemical Engineering, chemical unit operations, Pilot Plant study, software knowledge, GMP guidelines, Catalysis, Reaction Engineering, Corrosion & Metallurgy and Applied Chemistry etc.
