Updated: Mar 30, 2019

Three studies released by International Association of Color Manufacturers (IACM) confirm the safety of synthetic color additives. IACM is known for its unmatched knowledge and access to color industry experts and leading scientific researchers.

Estimated consumer intake for color additives is recorded in one of the manuscripts which represents the levels are insignificant in comparison to acceptable daily intake developed by joint WHO/FAO expert committee on Food additives.

The studies have been commissioned by IACM to develop quality data which imparts accurate and reliable data. This information can be accessed by regulators, scientific community and consumers. It has been mentioned in the manuscript that continuous utilization of synthetic color additives is safe even if consumed in high levels. Genotoxic activity also reaffirms the safety of Allura Red AC and Tartrazine.
