Nanotechnology based medicine has experienced substantial growth in the last half decade.With the use of nanotechnology, advances have been made towards improved localized delivery of drugs to tumor sites, improved efficacy and reduced side effects.Many pharmaceutical companies have already begun utilizing nanotechnology to improve drug delivery and targeting.The yearly volume of nano related patents has also increased. Pharmaceutical companies lack in-house expertise in nanotechnology, so there is a huge demand for trained experts in this field. It is, thus, important to develop a more scientific approach for strategic implementation of nanotechnology tools in the pharmaceutical industry.

IGMPI’s programme offers innovative learning and the course modules are regularly updated. The Nanotechnology programme introduces the students to the analytical, quantitative and experimental methods used in nanotechnology. The main goals of this programme are to:

Module 3: Biology of cell-cell interactions

Module 4: Fundamentals of sustained/controlled/targeted drug delivery

Module 7: Regulatory Guidelines

Module 8: Applications of Nanotechnology in Pharmaceutical and other Life Science Disciplines

Module 9: Case Studies on Nanotechnology inventions and patents

After completion of this course, the candidates will get a thorough overview of the current state of nanotechnology as well as the implications of these technologies for safety, regulation and innovation.The regulatory and ethical issues in using nanotechnology and their impacts are also discussed. Awareness about Nanoscale structures, their preparation, properties and applications will also be developed.

Eligibility

All those who have completed their Graduation or Post Graduation/ Pharma / PhD are eligible to enrol for the course. As this course is truly professional and industry oriented, employed individuals working in any sector (production, processing, quality, trial, R&D etc.) in the healthcare industry (Food manufacturing, Food Ingredient and Additive processing, Drugs manufacturing , Medical Device, Ayurveda, Pharmaceutical Industry Regulation, Clinical Research, Homeopathic or Ayurveda Medicine Manufacturing, Cosmetic Manufacturing, Biotechnology) can also seek benefits of the course.

Programme Duration

Minimum time in which a student can complete this diploma course is one year while a maximum of two consecutive years is allowed to complete the course.

The registration dates for this bi-annual program run by the institute are updated timely on the webpage. The Training sessions and webinars are strictly scheduled depending on the availability of speakers. Effective E-learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the course lectures, videos and study material easily accessible. This gives huge window of self-regulated and self-paced performance to the participants.

Programme Fee

A one-time fees (lump sum paid at beginning of the course) of Rs 20,000 /- (600 USD for oversees students) is mandatory. This covers for the course registration fees, tuition fees, course material fees ect. Apart from this, an examination fee of Rs 400/- (USD 10) per module needs to be paid later as per the examination notification of the Institute.10% of fee concession is applicable to applicants belonging to SC/ST, Physically Handicapped (PH), Ex-servicemen or those who belong to Economically Weaker Section (EWS)/ Below Poverty Line (BPL).

Examination & Certification

All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the course, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the course. After successful completion, the participants will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma in Nanotechnology.
