Now a days, there is strong demand for alternatives to pharmaceuticals for various diseases due to concerns of safety, efficacy, and a desire for more “natural” products. Herbal medicines have been widely used all over the world since ancient times by physicians and patient for their better therapeutic value as they have no or less side effects as compared with modern medicines. People also use herbal medicines to maintain or improve their health.
Many people believe that products labelled "natural" or “Herbal” are always safe and good for them, but it’s not true. Some herbs, like ephedra and comfrey, can cause serious harm. This is the reason that herbal medicine demands for studies in their field. It includes quality control, efficacy and safety of herbal drugs and medicaments. This programme will provide professionals with the good basic grounding of physical, chemical, biochemical and biological properties of drug substances or potential drugs of natural origin as well as help them to search new medicines from natural sources.

Module 15: Guide to Essential Drugs Prescribing information under Ayurvedic, Unani, Siddha and homeopathy system of medicines.
Any Graduation/ B.tech/ B.Sc. in Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Zoology/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ BE/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BAMS or any other discipline. Diploma holders are eligible for our Executive Diploma, Industry Certificate, and Certificate Programmes.
Minimum duration to complete this programme is 3 months and maximum is 6 months

Effective online learning tools incorporated into the design of the webpage make the programme lectures, online live classes and study material easily accessible. This gives a huge window of self-regulated and self-paced performance to the participants.
A comprehensive study material for all the modules in hard copies ensuring the needs of the audience. The accompanying training material is appropriately aligned with the current Industry’s expectations.
IGMPI follows a credit system based on all learning activities involved in studying for all PG Diploma, Executive Diploma and Certificate Programmes. Each of your modules is equal to 4 credits. To successfully complete the programme, you will have to earn all the credits assigned to your programme.
All the participants are obliged to timely submit completed assessment assignments (during the programme, usually after every module) and appear for an online exam at the end of the programme. After successful completion, the participants will receive an Industry Certificate in Herbal Medicines, IGMPI. For all the above mentioned modules elaborate programme material, self-assessment assignments and project work details would be provided by the Institute from time to time. The Institute has partnered with many organizations for providing with placement assistance to in its participants. Besides, it has a robust placement cell comprised of senior level Human Resources professionals and Talent Acquisition experts which maintains close links with business and industry. This cell is continuously engaged in promoting the employability of our participants and encouraging the concerned Human Resources department and Hiring Managers to recruit/hire our participants for their vacant positions. The efforts of our placement cell also include helping with professional resume writing & interview skills.

After completion of this programme professionals will have knowledge of how to use various parts of plants, including seeds, roots and bark to create medication, herbal medicine and natural dietary aids. This programme will help professionals to get job in Production, Manufacturing, Research & Development and Marketing of herbal medicines. They also have plenty of opportunities in specialized fields such as herbal medicine, Acupuncture, Naturopathy etc.
