FSSAI separates standards for Frozen vegetables like beans, cauliflower, and spinach

FSSAI has separated standards for frozen vegetables like beans, peas, cauliflower, and spinach. The nation's summit food regulator has issued a draft in such manner, and once embraced nourishment business administrators (FBOs) exchanging such frozen items should consent to the new standards endorsed by it for the same.

Prior, all the frozen vegetables had basic standards. As indicated by the notice issued by the FSSAI, the new guidelines will be included under the condition of frozen vegetables of the Food Safety and Standards. FSSAI is expecting from all refrigeration and cold storage, small retail shops and rural households, and growing cold chain industry to contribute towards the growth of frozen food in the Indian market in the coming years.

Frozen Beans:
As per the standards, frozen beans shall be taken from clean, fresh, succulent and sound pods of the plants of given species like Phaseolus vulgaris L or Phaseolus coccineus L. They should have the good amount of sugar, salt, spices, and herbs.

Frozen Cauliflower:
As per the standards, frozen cauliflower shall be taken from clean, fresh, succulent and sound heads of the plants of given species like Brassica oleracea L var botrytis L.

Frozen Peas:
As per the standards, frozen beans shall be taken from clean, fresh, succulent and sound heads of the plants of given species like Pisum sativum L containing sugars, salt, spices, and herbs. Peas should have uniform green color, free from any foreign taste or smell.

Frozen spinach:
Frozen spinach shall be prepared from clean, fresh and sound edible parts of the spinach plant of the species Spinuciu oleruceu L. Storage temperature should be -18°C or below.
